2.5 Settings

2.5.1 Display

The display settings affect the way that alerts are displayed on the Alert Summary page. Your preferences will be stored on the server. The “Alerts Per Page” setting will affect the number of alerts on each page of the Alert Summary view. The “Time Format” setting will switch between AM/PM (e.g. 5:05 PM) time and 24-hour (e.g. 17:05) time for all displays.

2.5.2 Detection

The statistical thresholds section allows you to modify thresholds for Web Tap’s statistical detection filters. These values should not be modified unless specifically instructed by Web Tap support in response to special circumstances in your network.

The trusted user-agents and trusted non-standard header fields sections list and let you modify the set of trusted user-agents and headers. To remove user-agents or headers so that they are no longer trusted, simply highlight them and click on the “Remove” button. If you want to add a new trusted user-agent or header, type in the value in the respective section and click on the “Add New:” button next to the text box. Note: Adding a trusted user-agent or header on this page will not remove current alerts like it does on the alert detail page.

2.5.3 Export

The export function allows you to save Web Tap alerts to an HTML document. To export the alerts, select an output file format, type in a name for the export file relative to the Web Tap installation directory, and select whether to export all alerts or just new alerts (not yet viewed). Web Tap will save the alert details for each alert in the system either to a raw comma-separated text file or to an HTML file for viewing in a standard browser.
